Sunday 23rd December 2007 The River Cam at Clayhythe A hastily arranged Club Sweepstake Match saw us up bright and early, well everyone except me! To fish on the Cam at Clayhythe. Thirteen anglers turned out for our club sweep on the cam and even with Freezing fog all day it did not deter us .Our rod rings were also freezing up it was so cold. This put pay to any large catches although a lucky few were kept busy catching small roach on bread punch.

Lets face it anything beats last minute christmas shopping, I reckon club stalwart Trevor Sturge was wishing he could have fished even though we had small weights Trevor being one who had to go else where. The two pin up boys also did not make it ending up practising for some big match such are ther super star status these days .So it was left to the oldies. Very much last of the summer wine stuff with Compo Darler, and Nora Batty Tweed having a right old moan all day long. Winker Curtis having the last laugh on both of them. Our next match is on the Lode at Upware on the 6th of January all club anglers welcome. Back to Top
