Reach Lake - Reach

CFPAS LTD has acquired the fishing rights to Reach Lake.

Access

Follow the road in to Reach village, look for a sign directing you to Upware.  This sign also directs you to Reach Fen no through road.  Follow the Reach Fen Road ("NO THROUGH ROAD"... see below picture) over a small bridge, which takes you over the Reach Lode.  Turn right, follow the made up track from the bridge all the way to the lake looking for large power cables, which are situated before the lake.   Parking is adjacent to the lake.

Warning

The track is a typical farm track made up on the Gault Chalk Fen.  It is quite hard in the summer.  At the start of the track be warned there are a few ruts caused by heavy vehicles.  It is not recommended that vehicle access is gained to the lake in wet weather or in the winter months as the track becomes slippery.  Pedestrian access to the lake is from the small footbridge adjacent to Reach Sewage Treatment Works.  Please ensure when parking all access points are left clear.

Fishing

There are currently 6/7 swims.  All opposite a large weed bed on the far bank.  We do not intend to re-establish swims on the far bank as it is possible to cast from the existing swims.  The reeds provide a natural sanctuary and breeding area for wildlife.

Fish Stocks

Clearly we will be monitoring the fish stocks in this lake.  There are though a number of large Carp that cruise around the lake and typically they will be hard to catch!

Tench, Roach and Skimmers are present in this 8ft deep Gault hole.  If you fancy a change then you can fish the Reach Lode adjacent to the lake, as this is our water.

The lake is away from it all in the Fen.  Pleas remember this is not a commercial fishery and has therefore a natural stock level and will be maintained accordingly.
