This code is designed to complement the existing legislative framework and provide a common sense guide to values and behaviour to which Anglers should aspire.

The British Disabled Angling Association

The British Disabled Angling Association (BDAA) is a registered charity set up in 1996 to develop fishing opportunities for disabled people. We were created following increased calls for the formation of a group to develop coarse, sea and game fishing opportunities for people with disabilities.

We are supported by the English Federation of Disability Sport and Environment Agency and, as the country’s leading disability angling charity, have a coveted place on a unique ‘Angling Participation Project Group’. This Group brings together Government, Sport England, the Angling Trade Association and many others in a bid to promote angling and put half a million new converts onto riverbanks and still waters during the next three years.

With almost 9 million disabled people in the UK, we want to make sure that thousands of disabled adults and children, be they beginner or expert, can access the sport of angling.

Each year, valuable support is received from many celebrities, other angling organizations, disability groups, individuals and disabled people which enables us to continue to widen participation in angling by disabled people.

Should members require further information on disability angling, platform or access advice please contact Terry as below of for  any further information about the BDAA please Email Terry Moseley at info@bdaa.co.uk
