Club Book Latest News

All Club Books have now been distributed and are with both our Agents and Bailiffs.  Early reports suggest that demand is high and that the Memberships are flying off the shelves... which is good news for all.

Club Book Latest News

You will be pleased to hear that Graham has taken possession of a few new club books today and has distributed them out to all our local agents bar Godmanchester which we hope to take in by next Saturday.  Remember your current memberships are valid until Saturday 14th March and you are able to fish on them until then.

We are sorry about the hold up (not helped by my pc - on which I produce the master book, going down for over a month) but hopefully by the end of the week we should have the full quota into each of our agents.

Membership prices have remained the same as last year

Adult under 65 years £25

OAP/Concessions £10

Children under 16 years £10

Click here for a membership form if you would prefer to order your books online.

PLEASE NOTE

Due to an increase in postage underpayment we now offer a post and packaging service for an additional £1 fee, this is due to the weight and size of the annual membership permit.

Up to two annual membership purchases, to the same address, requires £1 post and package only.

If you prefer to send in your own s.a.e. this will require a first class stamp on and A5 envelope due to the weight and size of the annual membership permit.

Club Mark Status - External Verification

CFPAS Ltd. are Clubmark accredited and have met the standards set by Sport England for Club management, coaching and provision of safe and structured opportunities for youngsters to become involved in the sport.

We were recently audited by an external Accreditor to see that our Club Mark records were up to date and that we were still in compliance with the standards set by Sport England.  You will be delighted to hear that we passed with flying colours and received the following letter from the Auditors.

Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections and CFPAS are one of only a handful of Angling Clubs to have gained this award.

Hopefully I haven't messed too much of it up but if you find any problems with it please let me know.

Important announcement coming soon.

CFPAS Ltd. is in the process of finalising details for an exciting new venue to add to the clubs portfolio... further information to follow shortly.

Keep looking here for details.

NETHERGROVE LAKE - REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

The refurbishment / tidying up of the lake and surround is well underway.  Some of the work done would appear quite brutal with the significant cutting back of bank side trees and bushes.  The swims however, have become in a couple of areas quite overgrown and so we have taken this action before they become too closed up.

Further work is planned with the re-establishment of swims opposite the island and the pruning of trees along the high bank.  Next winter the island will be coppiced.  We do this every 5 or 6 years.  Hopefully in the next month some Carp, Ghost and Koi will be introduced.  These fish go up to a pound in weight and will, we feel add sport to the venue.

Anyone interested in helping with the restoration project please contact Graham on 01223 234616.  Our Bailiff Rodger over at Block Fen wishes to organise a litter pick at our Mepal venue.  Please contact Graham if you can offer an hour or so this Spring.

Fish Tales - a tale of Nethergrove Lake

CFPAS LTD Fishery, Barway.

I regret to report that access to the Ouse at Barway (pump) Section is prohibited.  The Landowner has locked the access gate and will not allow anglers access.  This action is not a result of anglers but persistent fly-tipping on his land.

CFPAS LTD has attempted to negotiate with the Landowner but without success.  We regret therefore that this fishery is no long accessible to CFPAS LTD members and we have advised our Landlords the Environment Agency accordingly.

Level 2 Coaching Certificate

I am delighted to report that Alan Brown and John Pope have successfully completed their professional Angling Association run course for the Level 2 Certificate in coaching angling on 1st 4 Sport qualification.  CFPAS LTD and the Environment Agency were co-sponsors of Alan and John who will be presented with their certificates in the near future.  The course is quite intensive and requires a considerable amount of personal time to complete.  CFPAS LTD is proud to boast that we now have four Level 2 licensed coaches and three Level 1 coaches in delivering our coaching programme.  All are happy to talk about their experience in getting the qualification and whilst we will tell you it is a lot of work we will also say how rewarding it is.
