Little doubt over the winner, Mr. Darler storming to back-to-back victories on the Lode, this time having a mixed bag catch of big Perch, Roach and Rudd caught on……. erm? Worm? Pinkie or was it bread?  Some fine specimens up to 3 lb.  A true display of attacking fishing, which left all us trying to catch up, 5 lb in the first ½ hour, such was his catch rate.

Craig Rayner used hemp to good effect in amassing a Roach catch.  A brilliant display of long pole fishing.

On Friday I decided to completely knacker my back.  Fortunately things improved a little so that I could fish on Sunday and with the kindness of anglers helping me to my peg and some scrounging of bait from Mr Darler plus some very strong painkillers I was in the mix.  Sometimes seeing three red float tips I managed to sort out some Roach and Rudd from a very long peg.  It was a bit scary when only one of my three red float tips disappeared – did I care – no man!  Our next match is on the Lark at Prickwillow, another water that will sort us out, me thinks!
