Baits Bite Lock

Sunday 24th June 2007

Rain, rain ,rain. Yes we have got webbed feet in the fens. The Cam had more colour than in the winter. We arrived at our pegs full of optimism, that got soon shattered as my favourite river got up to its tricks and was quite patchy in some pegs.

The top 12 in our matches point score,1 point is awarded for attendance.  Tench, Chub, and Bream were the mainstay of catches. The small fish did not show except for mikes catch of tiny bleak caught long line on the whip, one to watch this lad! Trevor did not disappoint me ,yes he fished chop! Kevin proved me wrong and turned up in plenty of time so is now known as ----plenty of time!

A little lad not in our match caught a near 4 pond perch and offered to put it in my net, I witnessed it for him then he put it in Kens swim! What do I know? Paul Jackson Sat behind me and I said to him ,watch this no ground bait in your feeder and I wont get a bite, No sooner my feeder hit bottom the thing went round and I was into a bream!
